Wheres the A/C thermoswitch?
I know this is an old thread. Yet it proved helpful for me. I would like to update info on the subject.
I found the thermo switch on my 99 civic lax on the bottom of the evaporator case near the center of the dash. I was able to access it without removing the glove box.
I have been experiencing decreasing performance in my civic. After replacing leaking charge port Schrader, evacuating, and recharging, it still was only giving me 70°F at the registers. Pressures were good 250-275 hi side 35-40 lo side. I jumped the blue wires at the switch to by-pass it and now have 48°F at registers.
Since the system will need to be recovered to remove evaporator case, it seems relevant to replace TXV (expansion valve) at the same time.
I am an old auto tech, have many years with ac, yet have not experienced this before. A big thumbs up here for staying on the topic with relevant content.
Again, Thank You to everyone here.
