my battery in my central locking key pad went a couple of months ago. i have still been able to get the central locking by putting the key in the door. but i have put a new battery in it todayand it wont work with me pressing the button does any1 nowhy this is?

 

 

Yea you just need to activate it so that the system knows that it is there

 

i have just tryed to do that and it is still not working. i have sat in the car with the keys and pressed the button quite few times and nothing. do u think something could be wrong?

 

What year and model Civic?

 

when you say "central locking key pad" do you mean the keyless entry remote? If so, you might need to reprogram the remote. depending on the year and model, the instructions might vary. please let us know.

 

Were you the one that programmed the remote when it was working correctly?
If not, make sure you have the correct programming instructions. My assumption is that you have not even entered into the programming mode yet. During the sequence, the locks will cycle to let you know you're in the programming mode.

 

its a 1996 civic coupe 1.6 ls. ye its the keypad that u press instead of using the key. no i wasnt it was the owner before me i think because it was fine when i got the cra in january. thanks
