Default Window Problem..

I searched and couldn't find any situation as specific as mine, so I'll post here. My drivers side window (automatic) stays stuck at about halfway down. I can push down hard on the window and it won't go any farther down and when I want it up I have to grab it from both sides and lift it up and tape it so it will stay. When I attempt to roll it up, I can hear a very small noise coming from the window switch. If I grab it from both sides it is very loose and I am able to move it around.

So, is my window just off track here? Or do I need a new regulator?

Months leading up to this I had an increasingly hard time rolling it up as well.

take off the door panel and check to see if it's off the track. that's what it sounds like. if it is, re-align it, tighten the bolts, and shoot a little lube on all the joints while you're in there. i did the same to my girl's ek a few years back and it's been good ever since.

The main reason they "fall of the track" is because the regulator is worn out.
