Default Windows do not work in 1999 Civic

I purchased a 1999 Acura 1.6 EL (Civic), windows did not work and previous owner claimed it was due to a faulty master switch, which simply needed to be replaced. I have replaced the piece, but to no avail. When using the drivers window switch, it makes a sound like an apartment buzzer, up or down. None of the other switches on the master or any door have any effect. After I switched the master switch, I noticed that when using the drivers window switch, or a switch on any other door, the light for the heated mirrors comes on. If the heated mirrors are on, the drivers window switch will stop making the buzzer sound but still wont roll down. I suspect there is a short somewhere, but have no idea where and no idea where to start, I am ignorant when it comes to electronics. I have checked the fuse for the mirrors and all the windows, they all appear fine. The only clue I’ve found is that when I pulled off the driver’s door panel, there is a spot on this vapour barrier where it appears like the connection underneath it “burned” or something (Pictured below, the connection which is unplugged.) The grease inside this connector was thick like custard, I decided to clean it out a bit to see if it would work, but it did not. If anybody has any clue what is wrong here, please let me know ASAP. I am trying to flip this car but the windows might be an easy dealbreaker.
