That's all I have to go on. Assuming the block is ok and I only have to machine the head and buy a gasket is that a good deal?

Assume that the engine is toast. "Needs head gasket" is car seller's code for "drove all the way home with no coolant." If the rest of the car is in very good condition it's worth it. The engine would be a D15B7 so you can see how readily you can obtain one and at what price before buying the car.
