i am sorry to hear that...at least no one was hurt, and your car isnt totally screwed....but i would start by checking the fluid and the lines to make sure that wasnt the problem....i am thinkin that it is though...good luck with it

OK, so nobody sees any frame damage or anything? Sounds like you guys think I only need to order a front bumper and a left fender... anything else I should add to the list (I still have the OEM headlights and the hood looks undamaged) do I need bumper supports, re-inforcements, brackets, etc, or should they all just bend back? I need to know so I can order the parts and save on some shipping... If you look at pictures 4 and 5 you can see some pieces of metal that are clearly bent, I'm not sure what those parts are called, but it doesn't seem safe to just bend them back since the bend is crushed like a Z... should I just take it somewhere to have it looked over for me?

I may be stating a dumb question but don't you have insurance or a reputable body shop around you? I have been in a couple accidents over my life span and always just taken my ride into a reputable body shop, paid my deductable, and let them deal with it all, so when I pick it up it generally looks better then it did before the accident.

Yea, I realise that it's definately not going to kill me to repair, but the insurance raise will hurt. And no, my insurance won't cover it because it was my fault and I don't have collision protection. I just need to know what other parts to order, and I'm thinking about ordering from www.partstrain.com, unless someone has a better site to order from? BTW, does anyone know what those bent parts are called???

the metal thing you are referring to appears to be the core support... that's a pretty big repair actually if you can't just straighten it out yourself... it's purpose is usually not structural, but to give a mounting location for things such as the radiator, head lights, hood latch... all that stuff... it looks like it may be possible to strighten it back out...

However, if it has to be replaced, you would have to remove everything that is attached to it... front fenders, lights, bumper, grille, radiator, condensor, etc... and I am not sure if it bolts in or if it is welded in... if it's bolted in you could do it... but if it's welded i dunno...

You may consider getting the core support looked at, and just getting a shop to fix that, and then just put your new hood, light, etc... on yourself...

Also, depending on how the accident report was written up you may be able to collect some from the other persons insurance. Talk to your insurance company about it. If they were on the yellow line like you said it's seems it could be seen as partially their fault as well, even though you hit them, had they been center lane as they should have been, you could argue that you would not have hit them, as your damage is on the outer edge of your car, you barely hit them... in which case they contributed to the accident as well. Perhaps there is a chance you could collect... how bad were their damages... and did you both have the same insurance co.?

That really sucks though man... I got rear ended two months ago by a guy in a windstar. he was talking on the phone, and admitted to also reading a map while driving, and the cop that did the report wrote it as nobody was at fault... so State Farm had to be the ones to investigate and determine who was at fault... even with the evidence that it was clearly his fault they came back and said it was 50/50, and that they would only pay half of each drivers damages, so I am still driving around in a banged up car with over $1,200 in damages that I haven't been able to get fixed...

I ahve liability only on my civic, it's a 93, and I am insured through state farm, and they did not charge to inspect my car. They told me what was broke and needed to be repaired and gave me an estimate, which I then took to a body shop and would ahve gotten a less expensive repair than normal had I had the money to do it... you may want to check into that as well...

Hope you get it all worked out...

I'm thinking I might try to get up some money to buy a Honda Domani/Acura El conversion. It's gonna cost around $800 for it though... you guys think I should go for it? This is what it looks like...

Does it look like anything might be bent, pushing the wheel back? I can't tell if it's supposed to look like that... The third pic is the thing that the noise is coming from... idk what it's called, so if you guys know why that would be making noise or how to fix it, let me know!

Any help you guys can give me I'd REAAALLY appreciate...
