Default ZC question

Are the ZC version engines JDM's? my '00 LX has a D16Y7 with about 291K...rings are starting to wear ....I am looking at some ZC engines but i notice their intakes are different ..i.e....my air inlet faces up where theirs has an inlet that faces to the right side of the car.
Is it safe to assume that that a ZC D16y7 will work just the same in my car? And if i do get a ZC engine will i need to run any more wiring ...or eliminate some?...just need to know before i go and buy something that wont work.....sorry that was more than one question.....

The simplest thing to do is swap your manifolds onto the JDM engine-- use only the block and head assembly to replace your worn engine. The wiring is the same then. Of course if the new engine is VTEC, the VTEC will not work since your ECU and harness is not wired for it, but it's fine for daily driving.
