I was out on the highway this past weekend and decided to measure how accurate the odometer was compared to the highway measured km signs. Over a 27 km span my civic measured 27.5 kms. That is a half a km more every 27 kms. What this means is the warranty if alot of kms are driven will expire sooner rather than later. Has anyone else noticed this? My civic is a standard, not sure if it is prevalent in the automatic or not.
Honda has settled a lawsuit on this issue out of court, which I heard on the news.

it's within 2% tolerance... that's pretty good for something that's inherently inaccurate

 

I noticed that too, but didn't think too much of it. It's only off by a couple tenth's of a mile. I'm not walking the distance, so I don't care much lol!
