1977 Civic...
Just bought myself a 77 Civic. Runs great, body needs work, but I'm thinking of restoring it. I made a few phone calls to local recyclers and nobody has anything for this car! Man, it's going to be alot harder than I thought to get this thing looking good (and more expensive). I love these old cars, they were always so reliable.

Welcome to HCF! You've come to the right place. We respect Honda's older cars and appreciate the restoration project that's in front of you. If you have any questions, let us know. That car would be an awesome sleeper. What are your plans for the car? Daily Driver?

That's a great car to practice your own fabbing skills on. I would go for fiberglass body panels and a d16z6 swap if you're on a budget...

no idea, however you have come to the right place. You wont be able to walk down to your local wally world and get pre made panels, find a buddy who knows fiber glass. Read around a bit and try to learn, dont worry, youll get it. I didnt even know how an engine really works before I got here.

Well I'm sure nobody makes panels for your car, BUT fiberglass is easy to work with and with a little patience you would probably be able to make them yourself with around $200 invested into it if you do it yourself. A d16z6 is the engine which came in 92-95 civic EX and SI...also in VTEC Del sol. It's one of the cheaper engines out there, you can probably have a complete engine, transmission, and other pieces you will need for around $1500...

Welcome to the forum!!!! I definately gotta agree with Kol here, do your own fiberglassing, it really isn't that hard, may wanna practice a bit with something small, like a simple square box, and then do up the panels. I think that's awesome that you're gonna restore it.
