Hey, guys, i just came across a 1994 civic ex 2 door. i was just wondering, ad im new to hondas but do all EX models have the VTEC engine in them? could someone please clearify this for me and if not how do i tell if it is? i have not bought the car yet but will probably be doing so this ewekend if its the VTEC. Thanks for any help i can get!

 

I know the 92-95 Ex's have a 1.6 litre vtec with 127hp. Not sure about any other years though. Look on the engine block, it should read D16Z6.

from what I've ever seen the EX's always are VTEC

Most probably a VTEC.

 

92-95 ex si's all vtec. 96 and up ex vtec and the 99-00 si's vtec but that is the b16. so to your question yes the ex is vtec and obviously make sure its a ex also. sunroof and power windows and locks.

well bro if you ya a 00 and it doesnt have vtec you got ripped cause 96-00 has the y8 whcih is vtec are you sure its a ex. unless its 96-99 but most positive its till 00
