2002 Si Purchased Yesterday
I just wanted to say hello. I just co-signed for a 2002 Civic Si for my son (21 years old). I test drove the vehicle and was very impressed. I just joined the forum to learm a bit more about the vehicle. Obviously, I am most likely a bit older than most members.
For background... the vehicle has 38,000 and in service 2.5 years. Purchased through a dealership used car lot in the Detroit area. Car was in excellent condition - confirmed by inspection at shop that specializes in tuners (Good friend of my son). Believe it or not, the vehicle was on the lot for 80 days. Purchased it for <$11,000. I think I got a pretty good value.
Current Vehicles:
2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6l 6 mt - This vehicle is my main driver. The 3.6l is the first VVT engine for GM. (Member of the Cadillac Forums) I was considering the Acura TL - but the RWD of the CTS was the deciding factor.
2002 Honda CRV (Wife's vehicle) This is our first Honda and we are very impressed with it. 50,000 miles
1998 Saturn LS2 (Daughter's vehicle)
2002 Honda Civic Si (Son's vehicle)
Vehicles that I have owned you may find of interest.....
1970 Plymouth Road Runner 383 ci 4 mt
1970 Chevy Impala Convertible 302 (I think!) auto
1976 Chevy Camaro Rally Sport 350 4 mt

RE: 2002 Si Purchased Yesterday
Son is a wannabe gearhead. 21, senior in college. He will be taking up the payments when he graduates.
Daughter is 18 Sophomore in college. She has no interest in cars other than getting here to there. She actually loves here Saturn. We bought it with very low miles and it has been very reliable. Though that GM 4 banger does burn a bit of oil.
For clarification - the other autos were when I was a young man. One of the best things about cars back then you could work in them yourself without having to drop the engine to do anything.
Thanks for the welcome.... I am sure it will be as useful as the Cadillac forum.
Thanks....
