Default 2006 Honda Civic EX Pricing?

I apologize if there is already a thread that discusses Civic pricing. I couldn't find it, so I'll start one.

I am new to the Honda world. In the past, I wasn't able to "fit" into a Honda. My problem was that in order to get the features I wanted, Honda included a moonroof. With the moonroof, I lost the height needed to get my 6'1" frame into the car.

This appears to be corrected in the 2006 Honda Civic. I test drove an EX this weekend and was impressed with the room, ride, quiet, etc.

So... with that in mind, I am going to see what type of flexibility Honda dealers have with pricing.

In order to do this, I need to know what is typical for Honda Civics.

I am looking at an EX with Navigation, fog lights, auto-dimming mirror and rear deck spoiler. Edmunds can give me the invoice on the EX with Navigation but has nothing for the dealer-installed extras.

I would be interested if anyone can relate their experiences pricing 2006 Hondas.

Thanks!

David

you could normally negotiate on the new civics a slight bit (except for the Si) but since you want Navi, it'll be tough.

Navi models are in short supply.

I got my non-Navi model for $1,000 less than MSRP.

I got $900 off on my new Si. He was reluctant to do so but I complained about them charging $2400 for the leather on the car when it's an $1150 option for the RSX. If you wait a few months till the demand slows down a little you will probably be able to negotiate more.

I recent financed my 06' Civic EX Coupe... Atomic Blue Metallic, Fog Lights, Interior Trim, Wheel Locks, and Splash Guards. The I had the advanced "KARR" alarm and "Touch Of Class" interior/exterior preserving treatment. All together was approx 25,000. 27,000 with CA tax and registration. Needless to say, it is after all a brand new car, plus it's my first car.

Maybe it is just the way I am built vs. the Honda design. Accords are still not a good fit if there is a sun roof. Civics work fine.

I will actually be buying a 2007 Civic next week. Edmunds shows the dealer invoice at 17,816 with an MSRP of 19,305.

The deal I am going to shoot for is buying it at 19,305 and getting the 1,000 wheel upgrade and th floor mats and gauge trim for free!
