It's been a few years since I owned a Honda Civic but with shifting cars around to various kids and downsizing size of cars I've been looking hard for the past few weeks for an economical car under $8k.

Unfortunately with the jacked up prices of used cars its been a challenge. I had to start looking at manuals instead of automatics just to find a decent deal. Located a 2007 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5 speed with 147,000 miles for $5k from someone fairly close to me.
Good shape for its age, new tires, and my understanding it has a timing chain instead of a timing belt.

I was tempted on just buying a new car because it seemed like once you got above $12k in used car market the overvaluation was insane. In normal times I think I could have gotten that Honda Civic for about $3500
