Default 98 Honda Civic b16y7 looses power

HI i got a 98 honda civic dx with a b16y7 single cam. It ran fine for about a week after about it and then all of a sudden after driving like a half hour or so it starts to loose power and the engine will only rev at 2,000 rpm. If i let it cool down for a bit it will run again. Any idea????

Check the CEL, make sure the fuel system is priming when you put the key in, make sure your spark plug wires are in the correct locations on the distributor.

Also, you have a D16y7, not b16y7.

i have hondata s300 how do i read the codes off of that cause the regular obd is disconected
