Just purchased a 2005 Civic EX Special Edition A/T with 10,900 miles on it and feels great after being in a Taurus for about 7 years. Even so, I want to start making some modifications to try to get a few more horsepower out of the engine. Looking through this forum, it seems obvious that I should start with a cold air intake and a better exhaust system. My question is, how difficult is it to change out the intake? I haven't done car modifications before, but I know how to use tools. The exhaust looks like I'd spend a lot of time under the car, probably would rather just bring it to someone local to put that in, but I'd like to do what I can myself.
Will changing the intake and exhaust help with throttle response? Any other recommendations? My first car was a lovely '86 Ford Crown Vic V8 which weighed several tons, but the V8 would push me back in the seat when I floored the throttle. I'd like to get that back.

WELCOME! yes intake and exhaust will give some hp and better throttle response. a header will also help get some hp. intake, header, and exhaust are not very difficult to install. i suggest doing them urself and save the money u woulda spent on paying someone to do it for more mods.
