yeah with the cai you do run a greater risk of sucking water...it only takes a SMALL amount to lock your motor. yeah sucks for those guys....thank god for insurance. forget the bypass valve on a short ram...no need. its good to have on a cai but they do wear out rather quickly...just another thing to replace. skip the hassle and go short. </P>

my friend had a Cai and he sucked some water into the motor and that thing locked up, not good

It is pretty rare, and unless u live somewhere where it rains alot, its not that big of a deal. Ive always been a short ram kinda guy anyways.

Before you go spending money on a name brand intake.In my opinion,maybe I am wrong, one intake is as good as another. The only thing that makes a difference is the filter and that really isn't that big of a deal either. Everyshort ram intake that I have ever seen is only going to give you about 5 hp. I used to buy my filters at Autozone for 21 bucks and had no problem. Just some advice.<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

Actually, u need to be careful with the cheap-o's some arent carb legal and some the MAF sensor wont fit on the intake right.</P>
