Hey guys. New member here. Right now im looking at getting a honda civic... from96 to about 2000

Looking to spend about 4500. Guarenteed a 5 speed.

I want a car that will be able to be worked on to "beef" it up...what car/model will be my best bet?

i like the 99-00 model civic the most so i would say the ex or si's. preferably an si. but for $4500 not sure.
