Default d16z6 help no spark

i have a 96 dx that came with a d16y8 i got a good deal on a z6 so i proceeded to change over i put the y8 intake on the z6 and swithched all sensors over to obd2 but i ran into problem with distributer (they dont have the same mounting holes) so i cut the wires spliced them together to make obd1 a obd2 the only sensor ou cant match up is the crank position sensor i tried to start but no spark do i need the obd1 computer to make spark because it requires no crank sensor or do i have another prob the fuel pump kicks on with the key, there is power to dist all wires match in color that i cut and spliced any help would be nice

how did you manage to get a DX with a Y8?

was pretty sure the Y8 was reserved to EX models only?

I have a 98 EX and i am looking to do the same swap as you did y8 to Z6 is this the only problem that you ran into? Did you need to buy any extra parts or did the Z6 just mount right in? I got a great deal on a Z6 but am thinking the switch from obd's will be difficult. can you tellme how you did the switch and what is needed? Thanks
