Default First car--civic

hey guys
i decided to join this forum because i recently just purchased my first car and i got a 98 civic hx. i figured having some people to bounce questions off of would help me as i begin to drive and maintain my civic. hopefully ill be able to obtain some valuable info on products and car performance. hope to be part of this civic community.

yeah ill get some pics up soon. i was just wonderin about mods and good prices for certain things. nothing really specific but i don't want to change my stock package.

Welcome to HCF and just search around the forum for a while I'm sure you'll find answer's to all your basic questions pertaining to maintenance and modifying.

What do you mean you don't want to change you stock package? and 90Civtegra i hate your little sig bug thing i always think there is a bug on my screen.

my bad shatown, i meant i want to change it around a little. more aesthetics then anything else becasue im running on a tight budget only being 17

well your first mod should be replacing the timing belt at least. at least have it inspected! if that goes so does your motor!
before ya start moding your car be sure its in good mechanical condition. cannt stress that enough.

haha yea it got me too when i first saw it. It works better on my other forums that have white backgrounds instead of the light blue that we have on here.

+1 deff make sure your engine is in top condition before you start modding and running it hard

yeah actually as im typing this its at the mchanics. nothing is wrong its more of a preventative tune up. its a 98 2-door, its a stick (which has taken some time to get used to) and has about 105,000 miles. i bought it from an older man who used it as a commuter car so i'm thnking that it wasnt beaten.

ya if its got 105K miles its definatly time for a new timing belt. so unless the previous owner has proof that it has been changed then definatly have it changed!
