Found my car's rev limiter *SUPER N00B WARNING*
I've been staring at the tach on my 1993 Civic LX wondering why it shows a redline from 6.5K to 9K RPM. So I decided to see where the rev limiter is on my car. I put it in 1st (its an auto ), took a brave pill, and dropped the hammer. The RPMs went up, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 6500, 6700, 6800, 6900, then it hit! 7000 RPMs was the max the engine was going to go. So I "shifted" it up to the proper gear for 45 MPH.
So, for the 92-95 Civics that have the 1.5L I-4, the rev limiter hits at 7,000 RPMs.

i did that in my 95 ex auto, and it went up to 8500 rpm on the tach in the cluster. no lie, and it would do 120 mph then stop accelerating because it didn't have enough power to push it past that

look on the front of your engine about 1/4 of the way down just left of your exhaust manifold. There is a flat place or a "stamp" with the engine code on it
