hey i am new to the import world. i am thinking of trading in my 02 cougar after some eng probs i had with it. now i did some looking around but did not find to much info. does honda still make there civics with vtech in them? and what models sport them? also do they make autos with vtech

 

yeah. look for an EX. or if you like the hatches, look at the newer SI. its got a dohc vtec engine (though its not as powerful as we had all hoped, it will have a bit more "go" than an ex.) or wait for the new SI coupe that is supposed to come out next year (or late this year)

 

Just an FYI, it is actully VTEC. Youll get casterated calling it vtech.

Welcome to a better place, the import world. The EX is the best car you're going to find in an auto w/vtec, however i STRONGLY urge you to go manual. But, if auto is your thing, than more power to ya. Anyway, just wanted to say hey!

 

thanks guys.i know this are total newbe questions but thanks for the help. i am not sure if i was going to run with stick or with auto. i just wanted to know if vtec came out for both auto and stick. and what models of civics had the most hp. i was thinking trying to run a turbo with maybe a little 50 shot don't know just yet. but for stick what is the best model to get and for an auto what is the best model to get? i have always been a ford or a gm guy this will be my fist import. also is there any way of telling a car has vtec other then looking under the hood? if you look at the vin can you tell from that? or is there any marking i would find of the outside or inside of the car? i am looking for some thing between 00 or 04 what do you guys think the best years would be out of that time frame?
