Default hey im a newbie

hey im new to hcf. i have a 94 hatch wit a d16y8 engine. i got a few mods on it also. wondering if any1 knows how to hook up the vtec though. I didnt have the right ecu when i did the swap so they couldnt hook it up. Can i hook it up myself or would i be better off having a professional do it for me? thanks

there should be a solenoid on the back of the valve cover on the left side. look for a green connector and see if it is plugged in. if not plug it in and the put in your new vtec ecu. you should be set after that dont pay someone anything to do it yet. 500 is ridiculous if its just a couple pins that need to be connected.

$500 with a new ECU or Labor only??? Anyhow doesn't sound like a good deal to me. You can do it easily yourself...search for mini-me on this forum and you'll find directions on how to do it.

500 is to get the entire engine and tranny swapped into another hatch. they are also hooking up the vtec. so is that a good deal? this includes labor.
thanks all

I'd guess yes...especially if they have the tools, space, andd knowledge to do it right. Just hang out and watch...try to learn so next time you can be doing the swap.
