hi

i jus bought a honda civic si 2006 last saturday. i'm really excited to finally have an si. its my first car. , can i ask what is the best way to take care of it, like any tips for a newbie like me. i would really appreciate it. thanks

 

hey dude. welcome to HCF. whats it like to own a brand spanking new car? all the cars i have owned have been second hand. i work at a peugeot and saab dealership and the best advise i can give you is to keep up with the annual servicing of your car. it might sound like a rip off to get your car serviced at the dealers but it will make your car last longer and keep your new car warranty valid. always be on the look out for leaks and so on and regularly check your fluid levels such as engine oil and coolant. apart from that your dealers mechanics will look after the rest. hope that helps. congrats on your new ride and i'm glad you chose HONDA.

 

Damn, how old are you??? Congrats on the new ride, my first car was a rusted out '88 Camry haha

Check the Detailing thread for some really good tips on keeping the exterior in tip top shape. Also, if the car is brand new, use the SEARCH feature at the top to look for "break in tips" so that new motor of yours is broken in the right way.

welcome to the forum![sm=hiya.gif][sm=hiya.gif] i saw my first 06 si yesterday, its really nice,i like the factory kit on it...it was getting alot of attention too, theres alot of 4 doors but not that many si's around here, in your owners manul at near the back they have a big speal on washing and taking care of your car
