Honda Civic 1997

Default Honda Civic 1997

Hi all,
I am new to this form because i just bought honda civic 1997 before two days and there two lights on.
one is ABS and the other is engine check sign.

Anybody can tell me whats this and what i do?

Take your car to a local parts store and have them computer it, that will tell you most likely why your check engine light is on.

Your ABS light has to do with the braking system. I am not sure why it would be on unless your low on fluid, or have one or more braking components not working correctly.

I believe honda's have some sort of a passive mode where they can still operate even if one or more of the braking devices is dammage, ie: caliper, drum, brake line, etc.. But I am not sure when they added this function. It would be in your best interest to ask a dealer or brake specialist about that, or wait for more replies, I am not much of a brake mechanic myself.
