Default Honda Newbie

I just bought my very first Honda Civic and would like to start making upgrades to it but every time I think of where to start my head starts spinning. It's not the newest of Honda's nor is it the fastest or most appealing but I hope to change that. I bought it mainly just for transportation but I need a project and this one will definitely be time consuming as I've never worked on a car before. I live in the Denver Metro area so if anyone knows where to start on getting parts I would definitely appreciate it. I'm not into the mod mode yet. I'd like to just get started with some basics prior to looking into body kits and Nos. I have a 1990 Honda DX hatch.

I have absolutely no idea what dpfi means so I would say probably not Mine is an automatic but one of the things I'd like to do with it is change the trans. Right now I'm just trying to accomplish something simple like get a new sub dash but apparently it's proving impossible.

Lol... that defeats the purpose of fixing it to precisely how I want it. Yours is MUCH nicer than mine. Do you know where I can pick up a sub dash?

I keep hearing that and I don't doubt it but when you don't really have the opportunity to practice how would you ever learn?
