Hey I'm will and I'm new to these forums. I have a black '97 EX coupe. Its in pretty good condition, but the motor went to crap about a month ago. It's a D16Y8 with 115,000 miles, but the little bastard couldnt keep up with my friends '98 passat. I'd do a swap but i dont have that kind of money, so i guess im stuck with my busted D series for a while. I've taken about half the motor apart and found nothing, I'm starting on the lower end next weekend. I sent the head in to have it professionally done and got all new gaskets, so hopefully when I'm done it will run like new.
