Im New
Hey guys, Im mainly here to pick your brains when i need to trouble shoot my ride. My names Sean From vancouver BC and i drive a soon to be pimped 1990 honda civic dx.I do have a couple problems that i need some advice on if anyone could help i would really appreciate it. First off my car stumbles really badly through the lower rpm on the 1,2,3rd and very little into the fourth gears. It is defenitley noticable to anyone riding in my car and probably to anyone else also. Recently it has just started to feel like during idleing it comes slose to stalling. My buddys are saying its bad plug wires or bad plugs. Any Help? Also after changing my wiring harness in the back and the switch in the steering column($500 later) my running tail lights still dont work,so no driving at night for me and no mechanic seems to know what it is. Thanks for any help you guys!

Welcome to HCF.
The sputtering sounds like you just need a good tune up. PLugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, check timing, etc...
As far as the taillights go, were they working before you cahnged the harness and/or the switch?

no the tail lights were not working before. They would work on and off. They would be on when i left then just turn off in the middle of driving but the dash and head lights are fine, same with the brake and signals, they all work fine. And the stumbling is a severe stumble not just an anoying thing. Thanks for the help though guys and thanks for welcoming me!

It sounds like there is either a short somewhere or its not grounded properly. I had a similar problem in an old bronco II i used for the dunes. It is a pain in the butt to track down, but it was an easy fix.
When I hit a bump or stopped or acclerated quickly, the wire was touching some metal in the frame and inturupting the circuit. Try following it to the point of origin if you can, it may have some worn insulation on the wire.
Hope this helps...
