im a new member and I just bought a 97' civic coupe hx. its pretty sweet, i like it alot. its bone stock, can any-1 tell me wut motor it has? im just getting into the whole honda thing and would love to get involved. plmk of performance mods that would be good. thanx ill probly be doin a mtr swap b4 too long also wut motor would be good?

 

check out the sticky in the swap meet for a couple of opinions on the more popular swaps. i believe your motor is the d16y5. its a vtec-e motor, its designed to get REALLY good gas mileage, and have more power than it should for the mileage it gets. so for now, enjoy the mileage, then when you get a swap, enjoy the power. and the swap you will want depends on what your plans are with the car.
