Default new to civic

I bought a 95 Civic back in the spring. I love driving this car. Even at 200,000 on the odometer it gets 32-36 mpg every tankfull. I originally bought it for my daughter. You know, get the young girl a reliable car. ie, eg a Honda. Well she has been driving my '97 Jimmy nearly every since. Even though I really like the car I have had nothing but problems with it. Of course it's not the cars fault. The last owner(s) have ridden it hard and put it to bed wet way too many times. I would put a picture in here, but it would be pretty boring stuff... totally stock 1995 black Civic DX 2-door up on jack stands. Even with all the problems, it beats a car payment and will be worth it in the long run. I got it for what I thought was a good price, but I got what I paid for. At least I'll know what I have when I'm done though. I can't believe how much easier it is to work on and get parts for than GM stuff is. I have a 2003 Cavalier, 97 S-10 and the 97 Jimmy 2wd. I like the little Honda the best. So far I have done a new head liner, front brakes, right side front axle, radiator, heater core (oh my god what a job!!!!), and a head gasket. The head gasket blew and took out the radiator and heater core. Now I'm geeting ready for a crank change out and a basic bottom end rebuild. After I get it up to my standards mechanically, I'll probably get some wheels for it and give it a new coat of paint.

I've read through quite a bit of this forum. Very interesting, helpful and knowledgable sounding advice out there. I think I'll hang out here for a while!

[sm=welcomesign.gif] Sounds like you have a lot ahead of you, but already quite a bit done. If you have questions about anything, just ask if you dont find your answer on here already. Most stuff is here, but everyone is ready to help if you dont find what youre looking for. Anyway, good luck!
