New to the civic scene... 99 SI questions
Well guys my first car was a bpu 3kgt vr4 which ran a 12.7@108... but the motor blew due to a faulty boost controller. Then I bought a gsxr750... had it about 5 months and layed it over... so my step sister pretty much gave me her 1999 honda civic si for $5000(100k miles... very good condition)
I am wanting to turbo the car... I dont know much about the civic setup so I am hoping you guys could help me out. I am wanting to ATLEAST be in the 12's
going to buy:
-turbo kit
-fuel pump, injectors, fuel rail, fuel controller
-boost gauge & AEM wideband
-clutch
-custom 3" exhaust
-forged low compression pistons
-connecting rods
what else would I need, or what else would you suggest???

RE: New to the civic scene... 99 SI questions
I run a 99 Si with a GSR 18g turbo kit @ 10-11psi daily. However, def snag some internals and you can do it. The compression in the b16 is already insanley low ( 10:1 I think) so its not hard to achive big numbers to the wheels.
Im running aem fuel rail and rc injectors.

you are going to have to have built internals to get into the 12's on a civic. for fuel management i would go with the chipped p28 with crome or neptune running it, but pete has not had a problem with the blue box so im not sure how greddy runs. i would say about 20 lbs of boost would get you into the 12's. it all depends how much you want to spend as well. it is not cheap to get a civic into the 12's
good luck and welcome to HCF

wow 10k is a lot of money. maybe get forged pistons and some rods put in it and then i would piece together my own turbo kit. read up on turbos and decide how much power you want to put out and when you want the boost to kick in. if you want it at low rpms or high rpms. do a little more reading. you can contact me on aim if you want to talk more, my s/n is aryiman98.
good luck
