Welcome to the forums! Looks like you have a nice little laundry list of things to replace, but once you get everything replaced, you should have a decent little car on your hands.

For fuel economy, are you looking at increasing the highway efficiency or city?

Both, any tips? Other than the usual that apply to all cars.

Well, obviously there's the standard maintenance you already know about, so I won't go into that.

Really, doing a tune-up is the best way I know of to increase city fuel economy. However, there's a few things you can do for highway driving.

First, lower the car; less air going under the car results in better fuel economy as well as less drag (trust me on this, I've spent a lot of time researching automotive aerodynamics lol). If you want to really get into it, get sheets of ABS plastic (something like 1/8" or 3/16"... thin enough to be flexible, but not so thin that it flaps in the wind) and try to get the bottom of your car as flat as possible; that will decrease turbulence under the car, also decreasing drag and increasing fuel economy.

Also, decreasing weight as much as you can (while still being comfortable) will help fuel economy, but for some, that might be a little drastic.

Thanks sfazgiants,

I may just do that. Can someone tell me where to get the car designer link that I see on a lot of hcf member's signatures?

In a lot of member's signatures on this site there are cartoon like mock ups of people's cars. I figured there was a pimp my ride style car generator those folks use.

Something like this:

we all get our sigs made by certain people on the forum that are good using gimp, and photoshop. just scroll down the hcf main page, where it says chop shop, and you can request a sig be made for you with some of your ideas. but make sure you give them good pictures to work with.

and welcome to hcf. another 4door owner.woot woot. 4doors for mo' hoes. lol
