Default new guy here, first honda too.

Hi all.

new to owning a honda.

Dove into buying a rolling project.

89 civic 3door DX
wired for obd1 multi port.

has o.z. route wheels with h rated tires

and adjustable coilovers, of what brand, i have no idea.

has seats from some Si, and cluster.

dash from a CRX.

ordered a jdm d15z6 for it, but thanks to rain, cold weather and snow has been sitting in my driveway for a week now. (well protected from the elements, of course)

got a p28 ecu for it with a skunk2 chip in it.

4-2-1 2pc header for it too, nothing special, whatever was cheap.

six puck immatation xtd clutch, its sprung, i believe.

here's a video of a walkaround of the car.

it'll be a step up from my 1980 4x4 chevy luv(yeah yeah i know its really an isuzu KB ) with the stock g180 in it producing if i'm lucky 75hp!

You sure it's a d15z6?

Also, why a six puck? You won't be making anywhere near the power to justify that...you must hate your left knee and love stalling.

hey, yeah its 1.5L of eco friendly v-tec fury. its a Vx block with a ex/jdm-si z6 vtec head. estimated(when not romping on it) 35mpg.

the 6 puck clutch is sprung, making it very streetable, and my left knee is my good one. also, it came with the car.

my buddy has done a similar swap before. and used an OEM honda clutch, he regrets not putting something more grabby in.

Whatever floats your boat I guess... I had a car that needed a 6-puck and driving that was a pain in the ***. Though a clutch like that just puts more stress on the drivetrain when it's not necessary.

Looks like you work quickly

Good stuff and keep it up. Make up a project thread if you think this is going to continue to be loved. haha

BTW, I am not too sure I would keep that Skunk chip. I am not a fan of anything which changes parameters of the ECU without actually knowing and seeing what is being changed. IIRC, the chips basically add fuel and timing towards the higher rpms.

Welcome to the forum! I have to ask man, what do you do for a living and how did you pick up on the car mods? I'm still in school (dietician) and am way into cars but do not know how to do anything beyond basic repairs. Tons of dudes on this forum are super car savvy and is it from a book? classes? experience? help a brother out!
