Default New to Honda

Hi there. I just got my first Honda, kind of inherited from my mom, got at a discounted price. I am a certified Toyota technician so driving a Honda is a little different but I like the car so far. It is a red 2001 Honda civic ex with 101k miles on it. So far bone stock but I hope to do a little bit to it to spruce things up a bit. Hope to help and get help along the way here. Ttyl everybody.

Welcome to the forum!

What are your plans for this car exactly? You said spruce things up. Meaning little things here and there, or bigger things like suspension/motor swap etc?

Little things here and there mostly. Tint the windows, swap headlights and tailights for an led style(not sure exact style yet) mesh grill, 1.5" drop springs, wheels and tires, and maybe a cold air intake but we will see as the money comes around what all I will get to do.

I would pass on the lights idea you have. Maybe just black housing headlight will give you the look you want. I am not a fan of LED stuff in head/tail lights. But if you like it, go for it.

Yea I've thought about that as well. I have a harder time finding black housing taillights that aren't led plus I have ballasts for hid for the headlights just have to get the correct bulbs.

I would just stick with red/white tails. Anything without amber looks good to me. I can understand if you are thinking along the lines of black headlights would look odd without black tail lights, but honestly, it looks fine IMO. I did custom set of headlights (black metallic painted housings) with stock red/white tail lights and I think it looks fine.

I would skip on the intake unless you are going for a better "look" under the hood. You really will not gain any power from it to be honest.

Lowered, lip kit, black housing headlights, hids, tint (if you want), and a nice set of wheels should make the car really nice.
