Default New to Honda

Hello from Southern Illinois! I just purchased a 1991 Honda Civic SI Hatchback. It is my first Honda. I've been working on Jeeps and Fords for awhile now. This particular car has 135K on the body and tranny. The 1.6 motor was rebuilt by the seller and bored out to fit 75.5mm pistons. The motor is said to have ~5K on it. This car was manufactured in Canada and has the JDM ZC motor. The car is practically rust free. I had to buy tie rod ends and inners, along with the rack and pinion boot today. I've always heard that foreign car parts are more expensive than domestic but I didn't realize how much more they really are!
The guy I bought it from included a bottle of NOS and that equipment to hook it up. I don't think I'm going to mess with it though and will most likely just sell it.
The only big plans I have for the car is painting it the original color due to minor dings and scratches.

Welcome to the forum! Where did the parts come from, dealership? If so, that explains the high cost. I get tie rods for $25 each tops and I have purchased a replacement steering rack (used) for $65.

The parts are coming from O'Reily's. They are MOOG parts. The cheapest ones they had were about $25. I decided to step it up for this car since it will be my baby. I've had MOOG parts in domestic vehicles and they proved themselves over cheaper ones.
