im Matt. i jsut bought a 1995 honda civic ex coupe fir $1200 as a winter beater. its got 161,000 miles on it. needs some work but itll do the job, im on here just to learn some more about the car and get some support/advice for fixing the car up.

What kind of work is needed to be done on it?

 

tires-done
inner tie rod-in a box waiting to go on
speed sensor-speedo only works for a second at a time
struts all the way around-back bounces on the springs
new carpet-will be done sunday
new clutch-current one has almost nothing left to it, but it is drivable so im gunna hold out on that
possibly breaks-my other car i jsut tap the breaks and it stops, this one i have to push down pretty hard, not sure if thats jsut a honda thing

and thats it. cars in great shape for the price. itll make me through the winter, ill fix it up and sell it in april for more than i bought it for

For the brakes, I would replace them just to have piece of mind, but maybe there is just air left in the system which the previous owner never had bled out 100%?

 

car stops fine, jsut gotta go down on the peddel a little more than im used to haha my sentra i jsut tap it and it comes to a screeching halt
