Just bought a 2009 Certified Civic LX from my local dealer for my daughter to drive to College and back. So, I thought I would join here because I do most of my own maintenance on all of my vehicles. This car has about 40k on the clock but is in excellent shape and the engine is extremely quiet and smooth running. I previously had a 2002 CRV that was totalled by some idiot not paying attention. However this engine (1.8) seems very similar except the lack of the Honda valve train noise.

The dealer put new tires, brakes, battery to get it up to par so it looks like I have some time to research before I dig into it.
