Default newbie talk..

Hi people. Just signed up in this forum. Just want to be expert in the technical part of it. I'm a car enthusiast and really appreciate if you'll help me in here. Some questions and tips would be fine. Anyway, see you in here more often. Here is my first post.

When will you know that you need to change the oil filter? Is it only the oil leaking the only hint for it? The Honda oil filter was not that good when my dad got his car, he just got it from my uncle. Does it need the usual replacement or some fixing are fine?

i would change the filter whenever you change the oil ...every 3000-5000 miles. if the cars leaking oil its usually not from a oil filter.

+1^^^ it doesnt normaly leak from the oil filter. If i were you, i would prefrom a full tune up on the car, and in that way you know the condition of all the vital parts. Change the oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, flush and fill the coolant, check the tranny fluid, and if needed run a system cleaner like seafoam through it.
