Looks like I am the new guy. Just bought a 97 Civic DX with 105k on it for my "gettin' around town" car. I love this thing. I bought this to keep miles off the Expedition, and obviously get better mileage. I don't think I'll be doing many mods to this car since it was pretty much an economical purchase as opposed to anything else. I do imagine I'll be here looking for tips when things go wrong or stump me. I am new to Japanese cars, but do have a 2002 Honda Shadow that I love to tinker with. A gear head is a gear head, so I guess I'll be tinkering with this car more than I say I will.
Looks like a nice forum, so I am looking forward to chatting with you all.

welcome......even though you dont want to mod the car, you can increase gas milage with a k&n drop in air filter. runs about $35 but lasts a long time as is washable and re-usable.

Yeah, you'll be hooked in a few. Civics are like crack, you'll go into a tuner shop one day and see ALL the stuff u can do... you'll start with something easy then go big. Just wait

Yeah, I've done the K&N...I've put those in my other vehicles as well. Next will probably be plugs and wires...any suggestions???

i think that most of the small things you can mod on a car improve your gas mileage. Like, intakes, exhaust, plugs and wires. All those make you burn gas more efficiently. It's when you start pounding on the gas pedal that you decrease gas mileage.
