First, great forum. I hope I can get some help here. A friend of my father had a 1991 Civic 4wd station wagon. Then about four years ago, my father got it. When they couldn't kill it off, I received it.

The words that were told to me is "well, it's just a beater..don't put any money in it. But I drove it to work (50 mile round trip) for a week and it's running like a watch. A few small things here and there, but were fixed and tended to. Now it's running great. Time to get fixin some stuff. She had 226K miles, all of 'em rough, but humor me, let's see if we can get her in better shape, eh?

Yep. Dump money into the 4wd. Those are now rare now a days. Could be a classic in the future.
