i got this car at an auto auction for $500.00. had to put in new door and rear panels, installed '96 seats from a prelude, swaped tranny for a '91 crx 5-speed, got the wheels from recycling yard for $300.00 (with good treads). color sanded the whole thingand got windows tinted. and still going. i've always had trucks or large american v-8's so this a new experience for me, i get about 29 mpg which is awesome (i think). lowered the car with neuspeed sport springs and (till i get bilsteins) kyb struts, and changed the torn stock lower trailing arm bushings with poly uerathane. larger air filter. and exhaust will be done today or friday the 14th. i enjoy working on cars and this one has been a trip. dont know what i'll do when i'm finished. maybe a return trip to the auction?

Wow only $500. What else you planning on doing to it. A new paint job would make it real nice.

 

I was thinking about changing my transmission to a 5-speed also. Why did you use one from a CRX? Is that the route I should take or should I use another 5-speed from another Hatchback?

i used crx due to availability. its my understanding they are the same as civic from year to year

 

got the exhaust done about 1 hr ago, next ummm! so far its kinda been what does'nt work good enough for me i replace/repair as needed but probably finish removing anything blue from interior, and install a decent sound system, but i can't figure out where to install the rear speakers, i found the wireing for them but nowhere appears to be deep enough to install them.(any suggestions?)

there are rear speaker mounts that come with themm...mine had them but my friends didnt...maybe you can pick them up somwhere
