problems after my car got stolen
i just bought my first car which happened to be a 2003 honda civic ex. while i was at a party at a friends house someone ended up stealing the keys to my car without me noticing. it had been missing since thursday and i barely found it yesterday. the tires on the passengers side are completely flat and barely even on the rims. the front drivers side is smashed in where they had hit something, i have no idea what. im trying to convince myself that im not going to have to take a complete loss on my car that ive worked really hard to obtain, but my car cannot start, even though im sure those are my keys(they open my doors and trunk). the question im trying to get answered is... does anybody have any idea what i can do? or whats going on with the ignition? everyone whos seen it says its pretty bad, but im not ready to let it go. im new to this whole car thing. im waiting on my insurance claim to see how much it will cover, but i cant stand to just sit by and wait. anything i could try would at least give me a chance to prove its not totaled. im 16 and this car is validating everything that i work my *** off for.
Your steering is prolly locked. Put the key in the ignition and turn the steering wheel and also turn the key at the same time. At some point the key will turn. Get a carabeener and keep your keys on it, that way they won't walk away.
Yeah the sterring wheel is locked but 4 of us have tried to turn the key and the wheel at the same time and it doesnt budge. I called the Honda dealer in town and he was an ***. I just dont know if the car comes from the factory with a feature that locks it down completely when it has been wrecked or if the fact that they hit a curb or something so hard that it is just tweeked. The rear tire passanger side is off the rim and both rims on that side have huge peices missing. The sun roof is ajar also. Nothing is broken on the steering wheel and I cant see that anything was forced into the ignition. Some say Civics are easy to steal and some say there is a 90% chance you cant get into them and if you do you cant get them started without a key. It was on EMPTY and Im dying to know if they put gas in it. So very bummed
Thanks for any help. jewely66
