My 00' Civic has a short Ram intake AEM and its a auto, well i hit about 2,000 rpm and it starts to make a noise if i stay at that rpm and then if i go up farther it stops its a noise kinda like a "Rrrrrrrrrr" sound cant really explain it well its like metal is doing something, could it be the short ram is not put on right or something? when i let go of the gas it stops making the noise but when i get to about 3,000 rpm it goes away, if u can help Thanks!!!

 

is it like a wistle?...all SRI make this sound, some more then others

 

SRI's do make noise like Mill$ said, but it might also be something not tightened down correctly or put on correctly so it vibrates at certain rpm's.

if its just a hissing/whistle sound when idol and kinda like a roar or w/e when u step on the gas then its normal. the hissing/whistle sound is the air getting sucked into the engine, u cant hear it with a stock intake cuz of the resonator and the restrictive tubing.

 

mine whitles at just the right amount of gas pressage...if im really easy on it it doesnt and if i get on it hard it doesnt...i read somewhere that the sound means its working...

I have a 99 Mustang with a SRI and it whistles at about 2500 then stops. Its perfectly normal

 

v2 whistles so sweet, whistles are normal homie...ride on!
