Default ~250whp with a Z6

hey guys, i know this has been beaten into the ground but here goes...

i have a 94 ex with the z6 and it has about 170k miles on it so i'm yarding out my motor. i want to boost either a B or D but recently i have been leaning more towards the D because i have the engine already...

so my goal is ~240-260whp, i would build the bottom of the z6 with eagle rods, wiseco or vitara pistons, probably stock sleeves? and arp bolts. then the head would get machined with a skunk 2 turbo cam and perhaps port/polished.

either way, if i got a B or D series engine i would build the bottom so i would be out the 2k for the B series engine off the start, is it reasonable to think that forging the block i have now with boost later i could achieve a little over double the stock HP with the help of a t3/t04e maybe super 60 at 10-15psi?

sorry, still kind of learning but wanted to know in which direction to start heading and gathering info,

Thanks!

stick with the d, get pistons rods, some studs and run 350-400hp all day

stock D series sleeves can hold 450hp all day long. It's only a safety net or a future investment when you want to up the boost pressure. Like rice said, you can hold 250whp with that setup (depending on the rest of the build). Just two words, COMPRESSION TEST.

ditto^ i was going to say make sure you engine is in proper working order. Replace all the high wear parts and do a major tune up since your engine already has 170k miles. May I suggest you just buy another d motor with much less miles and then do the build on that one, that way you can work on the motor and still drive your civic around.

marty has told me of stock internals D16Z6's turbo'd and making 250WHP without throwing a rod... but that's really really pushing it, and you need a REALLY good tune
I plan on making ~225WHP on stock internals when i'm done with my turbo project

Rods:

z6's on 250whp? yes, depending on the driving conditions
y7/8's on 250whp? not a good idea...

thanks for the suggestion, that made me feel a lot better about keeping the D, everyone dogs on them for some reason but i feel they have some potential, i wanna blow some doors off the guys with the Si's who think there the **** haha...

as for this, I'm going to yard my motor out of the car, put it in my truck (second vehicle) and take it to the machine shop to get honed and cleaned, maybe bored a little bit to fit some slighter larger pistons, then put in the eagle rods with the wiseco pistons or equivalent and the bolts, then put it back in the car, then do the bolt ons from there...

so next question is, what about the drivetrain such as the tranny, axles and clutch? i have a exedy stage 1 clutch already, but what do i need to do to beef up the tranny/axles... maybe a LSD?

LSD is good to have. Maybe someone could tell you if the JDM D15B LSD Tranny would fit a USDM D16? That is the tranny I have and I've never had a problem.
