Default 02 civic si turbo

i just got a 02 civic si k20a3...I am thinking about putting a turbo on it this year. Can the k20a3 stock internals hold up well over time with a turbo runing average psi? besides the the piping, exhaust, intercooler, BOV etc...what else is absolutely needed? headbolts? what is the stock psi out of lets say a greddy turbo if you don't e-manage it?

does a supercharger have less wear and tear on a motor?

sorry im a noob to the tuner world.

Sure the engine can handle boost pressure. But my bit of advice is spend a few months researching turbos and boost before you decide to buy a kit. or you could be like some other people on this forum who pay to have it done and dotn know squat about it[:'(][>:]

Hhahahha that me laugh[sm=icon_rofl.gif] for some reason.

Like everyone else has said, research and research. Being a noob is no excuse from not taking the time in doing some research[8D]

Whether your internals can handle it depends on how much hp you plan on making and not what psi you run. Also, how reliable it will be depends greatly on the tune!!!!

From 1 ep3 to another i am running a revhard turbo kit on my car with a bulit head and Im doing just fine on 11psi o boost and no your internals ( I mean the block) it will hold. Depends on how much you boost and all. I your going with the greddy kit dont get a piggy back just get the Kpro its way more reliable than the emange. It comes with alot of base maps already on it. So i you have any other questions PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

^^^^^^ that made me laugh too, good one. GReddy kits are overpriced and the edelbrock kits have a new piggy back that is totally fail. If you can find an edelbrock kit with the older piggyback.....::thumbup::

thanks for the response...and as far as research...that is what i am doing..only had the car two weeks now...so i am talking to as many people as possible and also reading a lot of faqs...the two combined will give me a good understanding. this car will be my daily driver with fun here and there.
i dont need a leaned super racer....but would be sweet to be running 250 hp. I test drove one with a greddy on it...and it flew...loved it.

if you already have a k, why not swap in a k24/a2 frank or something? as far as i understand, its fairly simple for an engine swap, pretty much just the engine since you already have a k. with k pro and frank swap itshouldput itup over 200 at least. then you also dont have the maintanence of turbo car. a good thing for a daily driver.

Get the Revhard kit and upgrade the turbo to the GT30R. Our block is good for 350 hp so you don't have to worry about the motor needing anything. Mine and Imports buddy has this setup and it wont be dissapointing. We installed everything in his garage and it really wasn't that hard.
