12A Turbo

I have a 12A turbo and was wondering if I could drive this as a daily driver. What I am getting at: Can I drive this without constantly being in boost? As you know the 12 A turbo is very small and will spool very fast. I was wondering if I should go with a different turbo for this application. I just want to have my car be as reliable as possible when I boost my civic. Thanks!

From what I understand the 12a is designed for a Wankel engine. That is not anywhere near my department, I really couldnt tell ya what you want to know.

Well this turbo came of of a Mitsubishi engine. It is in good shape but kinda old. Thanks for the input though!

The Wankel motor was invented by Dr. Wankel. It is the rotary engine Mazda typically uses. However it is commonly mistaken that Mazda invented the motor, Dr Wankel was German and had nothing to do with the Japenese. Mazda simply was the first and so far only (to my knowledge) to incorporate the 'rotary' engine on a mass production scale. The benefit of the wankel motor is that there is no reverse action as found in standard piston engines. The result is a higher RPM with ease. However, they are inefficient and a royal pain in the arse to tinker with in most cases.

Bottom line is that I dont know nearly as much about differnt types of turbos like the rest of the bunch do. Especially not enough for your query.
