I just bought a 1993 civic hatch. It's has a built b18a1 (parts list below). I want to thrbo it and need advice on making maximum boost safely. I am going to buy a cx racing turbo kit (I will upgrade the turbo but don't know what turbo is best yet, suggestions?). I want to know what engine management system I should use or if I should just have the ecu reprogrammed. What is a max safe boost on this engine as it sits and how can I improve that? Any advice like head work, electronics, tuning will be appreciated.

Good to see another ls out there. First, does the "pseudo" exhaust include header, wasn't sure of your description. Lets assume you have an aftermarket header, because if you don't I would take time to acquire more of those type parts first. Also, how many miles on the motor?

If all of the above things "Check out" I would suggest slowly beginning to grab parts. Additionally, I know no one wants to hear this but I suggest more research. The more you know the less money you will have to spend and more power you will get out of it.

 

P.S. just did some quick forum research on that company.... the short note was that they were a ****ty and cheap Chinese company. Take your time and buy nice equipment, especially because I'm assuming this is your only means of transportation.....
