Default 40 Shot

I read around the forum and wikipedia for an answer. I found some help but nothing specific enough. I want to run a 40 shot just for drag racing in the summer. My mods are an ebay sri, headers, and high flow cat. (all bought by previous owner or I woulda got brand names)

1. I was thinking that one of these kits would be ok just for a few runs down the strip with a dry 40 shot without tuning or adjusting my timing, isthat correct?

2. I would rather haveNOS since I'm a ricer but I think that theZEX kit would be better because it has the Nitrous Controller Box.

3. Iwould like to stay away from bottle heaters also because I saw a few pictures of what happens if u leave it on and the valve closed (it blew the whole car up)

4. I would be using normal (87 octane) gas until the summer when I would use the nitrous, then I would start using 91-93. How would I go about making sure that my car doesn't have any 87 octane left in it, do I have to like let my car run low on gas then idol until it dies then fill it with 91? Surely there is a better way to do it.

5.If I can't just hookup the kit and go, what else do I absolutely need?
[ul][*]NOS Kit[*]ZEX Kit[/ul]
Thanks in advance.

Ok.I was going to replace my spark plugs and wires anyway before I spray so I can get some that are2 steps colder when I replace mine. For the timing adjustment, I don't think that I would need to adjust it for a 40 shot. One more question, the ZEX kit doesn't come with a 40 nozzle, do you know where I could get a nozzles that will work for a 40 shot and what the sizes are?

I have a zexdry kit in my car that I don't want. I can try and find out the shot size for you and will sell it for $200 + shipping, if you want it. Let me know if you're interested so that I can take everything out and snap some pics. And yes, that includes the bottle (10lb I believe).

No thanks, since this is my first time installing something like this I want to make sure I have everything. (Install instructions, all connections, ect....) plus why would you sell a $700 kit for $200 even if it is used. TheZEX kits come with 55--65-75 so I guess ur kit doesn't have a 40. If they did come with them I wouldn't have anymore questions, I would just have a ZEX kit on its way to my house. [8D]

I'm selling it cheap because it's heavy to ship, it came with the car, and I need money to put towards my turbo setup. But I can understand wanting the manual and everything, so no problem.

Honestly, get a Zex wet kit and colder spark plugs and run that. From what I've seen it works really well.

word.....i loved both my dry and wet zex kit. very simple and easy to install. personally i wouldnt even bother with a 40 shot.........you can barley even tell when your spraying a 55 shot(at least it didnt feel like much to me). a set of ngk BKRE7 plugs and some good octane along with some time to tune and you should be set. i ran a mixture of 100 octane and 93 octane with no timing retard on my d16a6 with a 75 shot for over a year with no issues.
