You think 9 psi is ok for a almost everyday driven stock b16 with other bolt ons and good tune?

 

Depends on the turbo, the fuel management, the tune, and alot of other things. A built engine with a properly sized turbo will blow on 5psi with bad equipment but a stock engine will be fine with a decent sized turbo at 15psi with good equipment and a good tune.

 

A garret t3 super 60 turbo and probably turbo edit and possible v-afc.

 

im pretty sure if u use turbo edit u dont need the VAFC besides the VAFC is crap, id use hondata S200 w.boost option over that crap. Or go to a tuner and see if u can get him to use Uberdata or Neptune.

Yes, but does it have a 10+:1 CR? A stock [internally] B16 with a T3 at 9 lbs. might be a little much for long-term daily use. Just a thought...

 

You could slap a thicker head gasket on and have the quench pads on the head machined to lower c/r also but in all reality I say if your looking to boost a B series go B18B or B18C1

 

You'll be fine if you have a really good tune. And why would you use a VAFC if you're going to be tuning with TurboEdit? You need to do a little reading up on things...anyway, like md420 said, a thicker head gasket would be a good...but you should be fine at 9psi and just a good tune. With a thicker head gasket, you might could run around 10 psi as long as you have it tuned good.

 

+1 on good tune. just make sure u get it done by a pro. and don't go cheap on it. pay for it now instead of a new engine later.
