If you don't have LSD or slicks good luck getting into the 12's. Remember I'm running 215/35/18's at 45psi. I have no doubt that I could be in the 12's with slicks and or LSD. Launching a 300whp civic with no LSD is an art. I also thought my car would be in the 12's easy. I thought wrong. Forty's right it's not about the power it's about traction. I'd say your going to be in the same boat, plenty of power just how to get it to the ground so you can get in the 12's.

personally... i have had turbo... and we all know it was put in ****ty... but now that i have a b18 and if i ever decide to turbo it im spending the 5 grand to have it done right and the right kit. but personally i like my 18 as is now... pushin about 190 hp and 130 tq. gets the job doen for me

an axle is 75 bucks, and you can change it in half an hour with a little practice. cmon dude, just do it.
