Default b16a1 si

Hey, Haven't posted in a while. I have been through 3 civics in the last several months in search of performance on a budget . I had a 95 w/ si minor bolt ons. . . .slow. Then I got a 93 civic ex coupe (d16z6) with a dsm junkyard kit around 7 psi stock internals and that was pretty damn fast. I just sold that and because I got a clean 91 civic si for free! I have decided to go with the b16A1 with LSD tranny.

I really wanna boost it and I'll only have around 3,000 to spend on it. Any suggestions? How much faster then the coupe do yall think it would be?

3000 is plenty. Just check ebay everyday till u find a used greddy kit in good shape. That should run you like 1500. Then get a nice tune and youll be looking at some nice power gains. Figure the B16 has i think 160 horsepower, add 8lbs of boost and youd have easily over 200 whp. Get some crower turbo cams and a nice big exhaust............hello low 13's

I'm going to throw $3000 into the engine. I haven't even ordered the engine yet I might wait till spring. I probably wont get a turbo kit untill I have the swap completed free of bs!

if thats the case, skip the b16 and go w/a gsr swap so you can gain yourself some torque over the b16, thats one of the main downfalls of the b16 is its lack of torque, if it were me go b18c1 (aka GSR)

the problem with getting the GSR would be that its about 2.7k...and that would almost blow his 3k budget. i guess a b16a1 and a custom built turbo would be a better path on that kind of budget.

For $3k you can do tons better than a greddy kit
